Week 10 - Plumbing
Plumbing systems like any other trade is equally important as other trades, it how water flows in and out in the building and also how waste water gets treated and out of the building. also, Fire Protection is part of plumbing but it deals with fire head sprinklers.

plumbing systems are required for humans to have and accessible water. In this week's chapter we learned that plumbing systems are essential for a building to function. In a bathroom, it's important to coordinate with architects and interior designers to place plumbing fixtures and bathroom sinks because you need to coordinate where to run piping in a chase (thicker wall). in a sink, the hot water must always be on the left side and the cold water must always be on the right side, there are two different kind of piped that run in a sink. you have the cold water and the hot water as well. piping in drafting standards should be about 9" spaced apart in a 1/8"-1'-0" scale.

Mechanical also has piping that are used for unit ventilators, in some mechanical drawings you can unit ventilators that are connected to piping, in some common unit ventilators there are "two-pipe" systems that basically the unit ventilator has a cold water piping for cooling depending on the season and a hot water pipe that is used for heating. fire protection is also important in a building because it must meet building code requirements. typically in a school building you'll always see recessed fire head sprinklers in the ceiling gird or tile of a building. essentially these fire head sprinkles must not be on top if lighting fixtures so plumbing engineers must coordinate with other trades to makes sure piping and sprinklers don't interfere with each other.

in plumbing drawings, depending on the job and the intent of the design you'll see under floor plumbing which basically contains information where the sanitary line and the storm line is, and in a suspended plumbing drawing you'll see information the includes cold water, hot water, and hot water return lines that runs through the ceiling.
overall, I think plumbing is an important trade to understand and work with because certain boilers and starer pumps require power from electrical and interior designers can figure out specs needed for a design and coordinate.

Excellent summary that discusses the intricacies of plumbing. 50/50 points
